The Effect of Adaptation to the University Life on Psychological Well-Being of Preservice Special Education Teachers

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify the differences in the adaptation to the university life and psychological well-being of the demographic characteristics and to analyze the data of 170 preservice special education teachers studying in order to analyze the impact on the relationship between adaptation to the university life and psychological well-being. The IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0 software was applied to the data processing and the data was analyzed by frequency analysis, MANOVA, multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: First, there was significant difference in the psychological well-being of the preservice special education teachers by sex. Second, analysis of the adaptation to the university life and psychological well-being, academic adaptation, social adaptation, emotional adaptation and physical adaptation were significant difference in the personal growth. Academic adaptation was significant difference in the purpose of life. Academic adaptation and attachment to the university were significant difference in the positive interpersonal relationship. Social adaptation was significant difference in the self-acceptance. This study will be used as educational material for professors who are teaching preservice special education teachers.
